| Students studying linguistics at UL-Lafayette can select from a broad range of courses, including semantics, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, discourse analysis, and first- and second-language acquisition.UL’s nationally recognized Computer Science program, the Departments of Psychology, Modern Languages, and Communicative Disorders all offer courses that permit students to pursue a wide variety of interests and applications. The Lafayette area, with native speakers of Cajun French and varieties of Creole French, provides a rich source of data for students interested in dialectology, languages in contact, Creole studies, and other sociolinguistic phenomena. | |||||||||||||||||||
