Faculty Advisor: Christine DeVine

Christine DeVine, faculty advisor to and founder of the Louisiana Conference, is an associate professor and the Mary E. Dichmann Endowed Professor of English at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where she teaching classes in Victorian literature and culture. Her book Class in Turn-of-the-Century Novels of Gissing, James, Hardy, and Wells was published by Ashgate in 2005. Her current book project focuses on transatlantic travel writers. She has recently published book chapters on the New World travel writing of Henry James, as well as the short fiction of George Gissing, and has an essay on Fanny Trollope forthcoming in a collection from Ohio State UP on women’s ekphrastic writing.

Public Relations: Amanda Anderson

A native of New Hampshire, Amanda Anderson received her Bachelor’s degree from Colby-Sawyer College in New London, NH. After graduating with her Masters in English from Fitchburg State College in 2007, Amanda began working on her Ph.D. at The University of Louisiana at Lafayette where she is pursuing studies in folklore and children’s literature.

Webmaster: Kyle Felker

A native of Louisiana, Kyle Felker spent ten years as a technology librarian and web designer before throwing in the towel and going back to graduate school. He is now a Ph.D. candidate at ULL and is concentrating in rhetoric and folklore.

Fund Raising: Marie Henry

Marie Hendry is a PhD student in literary studies, with a focus in Victorian literature. She holds an M.S. from Florida State University in International Affairs and an M.A. in English from the University of South Florida.

Public Relations: Seth Johnson

Seth Johnson is a PhD student with a focus on creative writing. He received his Bachelor’s from LSU in 2000, and then “pulled a Kerouac” for about eight years before joining the graduate program at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.

Volunteer Coordinator: Jennifer Page

Jennifer Page is a Ph.D. student at UL Lafayette, where she focuses on gender studies and the Renaissance. She received the Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Nicholls State University, and the Master of Arts degree in English from UL Lafayette. Jennifer is active outside of the classroom, as a student representative to the graduate faculty, a member of Sigma Tau Delta, and assistant to the Department of English's graduate coordinator.

Fund Raising: Jennifer Roy

Jennifer Roy earned Bachelor’s degrees in both English and History at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she is currently a master’s student in Literary Studies with plans to graduate in 2010. Her research interests include children’s literature, fairy tales, early modern drama, and speculative fiction. She is fully prepared should the zombie apocalypse occur.
