9th Annual Louisiana Conference
on Literature, Language and Culture
Hilton Garden Inn~Lafayette, Louisiana

The Louisiana Conference on Literature, Language, and Culture is organized to meet the needs of graduate students and new professionals (in the first five years of their academic careers), but welcomes contributions from academics at all levels. An international event, the conference brings together scholars from across the Humanities and Social Sciences for a weekend of intellectual debate, cultural experiences, and networking.

 

 

Abstract Information

•Abstracts of 350-500 words should be submitted by October 15, 2008.

•We welcome submissions on the topic of Desire from a variety of fields, including: Literary Studies, Creative Writing, Folklore, Linguistics, Cognitive Sciences, and History. Notice of acceptance will be sent by December 15, 2008

• Creative submissions should include a short, descriptive abstract as well as a sample of the work to be considered.

• Panel proposals should include three presenters, and should explain in 1000 words the panel topic as well as a 500 word abstract and biographical sketch for each presenter.
